LISBON — Josh Warren and his family worked together during one of the recent school snow days, designing a poster promoting kindness.

Assistant Principal Ryan Patrie invited all LCS students and their families to enter a poster contest in recognition of the National No-Name Calling Week during Jan. 24 to 29. A total of 140 entries were submitted, promoting various acts of kindness, compassion and empathy.

In addition to the contest, Carley Cox, a third-grade student in Marilyn Curtis’ class, read poems during morning announcements and Evelyn LeBlonde and Seth Smith, first-grade students of Mary Arndt, recited poems in classes.

Winners of the poster contest received a sandwich shop gift certificate. Every child who submitted a poster received a special LCS pencil for their efforts in promoting a healthy school environment.
