RANGELEY — The Rangeley Lakes Chamber of Commerce announces that Judith Morton has recently been hired as executive director.
Morton, a graduate of the University of Maine and a native of Rangeley, has had years of experience in the tourism industry. She worked at the motel her parents built in Rangeley, ran her own water-ski teaching business, was personnel director at the Eastland Hotel, Portland (then the Sonesta Hotel), and worked with her husband for 12 years in the convenience store/marina business that they have recently sold.
She served as a Rangeley selectman, was on the Rangeley Planning Board, and previously was a member of the Rangeley Lakes Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. While on the board, she initiated and chaired the Rangeley Lakes Summer Celebration.
