June Turcotte, trauma program CPS site coordinator for Central Maine Medical Center, checks 11-month-old Bailey Toderico’s car seat at United Ambulance in Lewiston on Thursday. “Over 80 percent of car seats are installed incorrectly,” Turcotte said. Only one in 10 car seats checked in the four hours Turcotte was on site was installed correctly. Turcotte will be back at United Ambulance on Russell Street from 2-6 p.m. on May 19 to do another round of car-seat inspections. In the meantime, Turcotte does inspections at CMMC by appointment. She can be reached at 795-2695.
