WOODSTOCK — The National Weather Service has upgraded Wednesday afternoon’s tornado in Bryant Pond Village from an F0 to an F1 after felled trees were found off Gore Road.

Meteorologist Dan St. Jean said Friday by email that while scouting the woods on Thursday afternoon where the tornado was believed to have begun, he found 10 to 15 large trees felled by the twister.

The upgrade to F1 means the wind speed was 85 to 100 mph, rather than the 60 to 70 mph of an FO twister. The damage path was 25 yards wide by a quarter-mile long.
