LEWISTON — Women, Work and Community is offering a free, three-hour workshop, an introduction to self-employment, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. June 13. It will be held  at the University of Southern Maine’s Lewiston-Auburn College LearningWorks Center.

The workshop will provide information to attendees about the pros and cons of owning a business, how to get started, point out the major elements of a business plan, introduce the many resources available in the Androscoggin County area, and help people decide whether self-employment is the right choice.

Preregistration is required.
