LEWISTON — The Thomas E. Lahey Foundation will hold its 23rd annual golf tournament at the Springbrook Golf Club on Friday, July 15. The foundation was established to honor Tom Lahey, an outstanding Lewiston athlete and successful businessman who died Oct. 3, 1987, at the age of 43. The purpose of the foundation is to assist local youth in the pursuit of excellence in academic, athletic and cultural endeavors.

The Thomas Lahey Scholarship recipients for 2011 are:

Mathew Gordon, a graduate of Edward Little High School presently attending Barry University. He is the son of Larry and Dawn Gordon of Auburn.

Deanna Morency, a graduate of Edward Little High School presently attending Dean Fisher College. She is the daughter of Michael and Mary Morency of Auburn.

Matt Beauparlant, a graduate of Lewiston High School presently attending George Mason University. He is the son of Paul and Marilyn Beauparlant of Lewiston.

Kristen LaCasse, a graduate of Lewiston High School presently attending the University of Southern Maine. She is the daughter of Gary and Carrie LaCasse of Lewiston.

Kirby Rodrigue, a graduate of Lewiston High School presently attending St. Joseph’s College. She is the daughter of Mark Rodrigue and Kelly Brown of Lewiston.

Julia Richardson, a graduate of St. Dominic’s High School presently attending the University of Southern Maine. She is the daughter of Corey and Daphne Richardson of Turner.

Joshua Charest, a graduate of St. Dominic’s High School presently attending Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He is the son of John and Louise Charest of Lewiston.

Nate Poulin, a graduate of St. Dominic’s High School presently attending Union College. He is the son of Stephanie Poulin and Tim Ouellette of Auburn.
