PARIS — A resident has requested the town pass an ordinance allowing himself and others to access a federal loan to make energy efficiency upgrades.
For a resident to use the Property Assessed Clean Energy program administered by Efficiency Maine, the town where he or she lives must pass the PACE ordinance, according to an April 2010 law.
According to Town Manager Phil Tarr, the town received the request too late to add it to the town meeting warrant. Tarr said it would be possible for the town to call a special town meeting, possibly in conjunction with a regular Board of Selectmen meeting.
The item has been added to Monday’s Board of Selectmen meeting for discussion.
The board will also discuss an agreement on stray dogs with Responsible Pet Care, which took over after the Allen Hill Animal Shelter closed.
They will also discuss new appointments to the Conservation Commission and resignations from the Appeals Board.
The Paris Board of Selectmen meets Monday at 7 p.m. at the Paris Town Office.
