FARMINGTON — Closing National EMS Week, NorthStar held its annual recognition and awards banquet to honor its staff of emergency medical technicians.

NorthStar is the ambulance service of Franklin Memorial Hospital and operates throughout Greater Franklin County.

Stan Wilcox of Weld was the recipient of the coveted EMT of the Year award that recognizes the employee who best represents NorthStar’s mission of professionalism, patient care, community activities, fiscal responsibility and overall excellence.

Wilcox was cited for his management roles, his participation on several NorthStar and hospital committees, his training and precepting roles, and his consistently exceptional patient care. He is a former recipient of the Above and Beyond award.

Above and Beyond awards were presented to: Peter Wade, paramedic; Steve Smith, paramedic; Shanelle Coolidge, EMT-I; Gabe Gunning, EMT-B; Shelby Rousseau, EMT-I; and Heather Rhinhart, EMT-B. Wade and Smith are two-time recipients of this award.

400 Club awards (for 400+ ambulance runs in one year) went to Joe Carpenter, paramedic; Shanelle Coolidge, EMT-I; Al Sleight, EMT-I; and Christie Pinkham, EMT-I.

Every member of the NorthStar staff was recognized as a contributor to the success of the system.
