AUBURN — An early-morning fire at a nursery north of Lake Auburn early Saturday morning destroyed a barn and plenty of equipment but no one was injured.
Battalion Chief Richard McFadden of the Auburn Fire Department said crews responded to reports of a fire just after 2:30 a.m. at Gammon Landscaping.
“It was fully involved by the time our guys got there,” McFadden said. “It was really close to the house and it took the whole barn down.”
McFadden didn’t give a damage estimate but said the barn had housed a tractor and other landscaping equipment and tools. All were lost in the fire.
“But the house was fine, apart from having to replace some siding,” he said.
