Boys & Girls Clubs of Southern Maine has announced that Karen MacDonald joined the organization as chief operating officer. In this role Karen will oversee the operations of the five Clubhouses in Portland, South Portland and Lewiston/Auburn serving more than 2,600 members each year. In addition Karen will be responsible for numerous components of the organization’s recently approved Great Futures strategic plan, including increasing attendance and participation, deepening and demonstrating impact and strategic program initiatives.

Karen brings more than 20 years of youth development experience most recently as vice president of program and youth development services at Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s national headquarters in Atlanta, Ga.
