Wal-Mart merchandise litters the turnpike after a semi carrying a load was apparently struck while stopped along the shoulder, just after the southbound on-ramp at exit 80 around 10 a.m. Friday morning. Another semi-truck somehow struck the Wal-Mart semi, essentially peeling open the trailer and spilling its contents. According to Maine Turnpike workers at the scene, they hoped to have it cleaned up by noon or shortly there after.
