LEWISTON — When friends of Christiana Melusine Fesmire heard a woman’s body had been found in Lewiston last week, there were moments of panic.
A 22-year-old who lives on Highland Avenue, Fesmire has been missing since the start of the month. She was last seen in Lewiston on July 1 and missed a family reunion she had been looking forward to, friends said.
A group of those friends has organized a Facebook movement, hoping to generate leads to Fesmire’s whereabouts. But with each new day, their sense of unease about her disappearance deepens.
Fesmire had been depressed about the death of a friend, they said. But it is also wildly out of character for her to vanish without a word to anyone.
Lewiston police were notified last week, Lt. Mark Cornelio said. Patrol officers were given the information and are searching for Fesmire. Detective Scot Bradeen has been assigned to the case.
Fesmire is described as about 5 feet, 5 inches tall with a slim, athletic build. She has dark hair and blue eyes.
Anyone with information is asked to call Bradeen at 513-3001, extension 3309. Tips can also be posted on the “Help us Find Christiana Melusine Fesmire” page on Facebook at facebook.com/groups/164482556954135.
