Hebron Academy will host more than 25 original Stanley Steamer cars on Tuesday, Aug. 9, as they begin their annual weeklong tour of the White Mountains area. The parade will arrive at the Rte. 119 campus at 9:30 a.m. The event is free and open to the public. The cars will begin their tour at the base of Mt. Washington to celebrate the 150th birthday of the auto road. The Stanley Locomobile, driven by Freelan O. Stanley and his wife, Flora, was the first car to climb the Mt. Washington Carriage Road on Aug. 31, 1899. For more information, visit www.hebronacademy.org or call 207-966-2100.
