BANGOR, Maine — An intoxicated Essex Street woman who didn’t like the way a 27-year-old man crossed the street with his child Thursday night was arrested after reportedly threatening him with a knife, Bangor police Lt. Steve Hunt said on Friday.
Barbara Goodwin, 48, “indicated that he wasn’t doing it right” and then “she threatened the fellow with a knife,” the lieutenant said, adding that “she threatened to kill him.”
Police collected a knife as evidence and arrested Goodwin at around 9:55 p.m. for felony criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon. She was taken to Penobscot County Jail and remained there Friday afternoon, a jail official said. If convicted of the charge, Goodwin could face a penalty of up to five years in jail and a fine of up to $5,000.
