BATH, Maine (AP) — Police in Bath, Maine say a man who was involved in an hour-long standoff with police has been charged.
Twenty-three-year-old John Byrd, Jr., allegedly threatened a couple during a drug deal late Saturday. A man and woman said they were threatened in a lot near Spring Street.
When police went to Byrd’s home to arrest him, Byrd refused to leave, prompting police to surround the home.
Byrd, who eventually surrendered, was jailed. He’s charged with criminal threatening and a bail violation.
Police tell WMTW-TV they later returned to his house and seized weapons, drugs and drug paraphernalia.
