WATERVILLE — Susan Page Davis, acclaimed fiction author of Captive Trail, Maine Bridges, and Love Finds You in Prince Edward Island, will be the featured speaker at the 2011 Maine Fellowship of Christian Writers Conference on Saturday, Oct. 8. This year’s theme is “His Words for Our World.”
A native of central Maine, Susan Page Davis now lives in Kentucky where she continues to sharpen her quill. With more than thirty books in print she writes romantic suspense, historical romance, and mystery novels and has won many prestigious awards for her work. Davis credits her early years as a freelance journalist for The Morning Sentinel saying, “This experience was a great help in developing fictional characters and writing realistic scenes.” Prior to her move, Davis was an active member of Maine Fellowship of Christian Writers and conference presenter. She is also a member and national conference instructor for American Christian Fiction Writers.
Davis will present keynote and interactive sessions as well as a fiction workshop. Three additional breakout workshops feature a variety of topics that will appeal to both published and unpublished writers. Jim Duran, editor of the Good News Connection, is among the team of several workshop presenters along with Christian romance author Ruth Axtell Morren, who will teach “Writing a Winning Synopsis.” An annual favorite, the “Live Writers Society,” will provide an opportunity for conferees to share excerpts of their writing.
The Oct. 8 conference will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Faith Evangelical Free Church, 250 Kennedy Memorial Drive in Waterville. The cost of registration is $45 (after Sept. 15, $55).
