EAGLE LAKE, Maine (AP) — The Maine Warden Service says a 22-year-old man is facing charges after allegedly crashing his personal watercraft into a boat on a northern Maine lake while under the influence of alcohol.
Wardens say Travis Toussaint of Eagle Lake crashed his craft at 12:30 a.m. Saturday into a pontoon boat that was tied to a dock at a campground on Eagle Lake. Nobody was on the pontoon boat at the time.
Toussaint was hospitalized with a knee injury and a gash to his forehead.
Officials say excessive speed, alcohol and limited visibility were contributing factors to the crash. Toussaint was charged with operating a watercraft while under the influence and operating a watercraft between sunset and sunrise.
