RUMFORD — Pine Tree Bowling league will have a meeting and practice session at 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 12, at Oxford Lanes. New teams and bowlers are welcome.

The season starts at 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 19.

Women vets

RUMFORD — The Maine Women Veterans’ Commission will be at the American Legion Napoleon-Ouellette Post 24 on Thursday, Sept. 29, at 184 Congress St.

There will be three group general information forums beginning at 3, 4 and 5 p.m.

Women veterans who wish to meet with the commission individually are welcome to come in between 2 and 3 p.m. After the 5 p.m. group session, the commission will stay to ensure all questions are answered.

Available resources include women veteran health services and VA health applications, the 2011 VA benefits book, Maine Veterans’ Homes information, State of Maine free park pass, cemetery, women veterans’ memorial coin applications and much more.

The commission will link women veterans to services available to them and encourages women veterans to join their online network, which currently reaches hundreds of Maine women veterans.

The commission will have an information booth at the Aging Well, Living Well Expo Friday, Sept. 30, at Sunday River.
