LEWISTON — The Franco American Heritage Center will offer a new program for children ages 3-10 on Saturday mornings with director and instructor Doris Bonneau.

No prior language experience is necessary. The program will feature songs, puppet shows and stories in a creative, total-immersion setting. Parents, grandparents or caregivers are invited to come with their child to learn French songs and plays and rhymes.

The fall session will be held from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Saturdays, Sept. 10, Oct.1, Nov. 19 and Dec. 3, in the Heritage Hall at the Franco American Heritage Center, 46 Cedar St.

Materials, included in the fee, will include “Goldilocks and the Three Bears,” adapted for classroom by Barbara MacArthur and illustrated by Robert Jensen, and “Chantons-Let’s Sing” (in French and English) by Michael Parent and Greg Boardman. The cost of $30 per child is due at time of enrollment. Each additional sibling is $10. All proceeds will cover program costs.

Space is limited. Contact Rita Dube, executive director of the center, to reserve a spot. Make checks payable to Fun in French for Kids, Parents and Grandparents, Franco American Cultural Center and send to: Franco American Cultural Center, 46 Cedar St., Lewiston, Maine 04240.
