LEWISTON — A free, three-week class for anyone interested in starting a business is being offered in Lewiston beginning Oct. 5.

The Basics of Starting a Business is a joint project of the Maine Centers for Women, Work and Community and the Women’s Business Center at Coastal Enterprises Inc.

Class sessions will be held Oct. 5, 12 and 19, from 9 a.m. to noon at USM LAC, LearningWorks, Lewiston.

The workshop will answer questions and discuss the pros and cons of being an entrepreneur. The class covers the basics of a business plan, marketing and cash planning. It is suitable for those thinking about or in early start-up phase of a new business. Attendance at all sessions is strongly recommended.
