AUBURN — The board of directors of Maine Organic Milling of Auburn recently named Warren C. Cook of Kingfield as the general manager of the business.
Cook is a member of Slow Money Maine’s Technical Assistance Team and he, along with other members, will manage and oversee all aspects of the newly formed company.
For 20 years, Cook worked in the ski resort industry and spent 12 years in manufacturing operations.
MOM started in the spring of 2010 when the organization purchased the Blue Seal Organic Mill in Auburn. It supplies organic dairy and smaller animal feeds to farms in Maine and other parts of the Northeast. It works in partnership with national organic grain supplier Organic Valley/CROPP Cooperative. The Department of Agriculture and Maine Rural Development loan fund provided the financing for the purchase. Other stakeholders include Androscoggin Valley Council of Governments, Coastal Enterprises, Stonyfield, and the city of Auburn.
