AUBURN — Selected Clover Health Care dietary staff employees recently earned certification as food safety managers through the National Registry of Food Safety Professionals.
The registry is recognized internationally by the food service industry for its testing and service delivery standards and practices.
Preparation for examination and certification included nine hours of classroom education with a curriculum exploring proper food storage and handling, cross-contamination and food-borne illness preventions, sanitation and personal hygiene, and the design and maintenance of a food service establishment.
Improved communication, team-building and food safety are key benefits of this certification, according to dietary director Jill Bookataub.
