RUMFORD — Physical therapist Garry Fitzgibbons has joined Therapy Services at Rumford Hospital.

He received his bachelor’s degree in physical therapy from the University of Connecticut. Previously, he had obtained a bachelor of science degree in math from Worchester State College in Massachusetts. His background includes two years in the Marine Corps, which he says taught him responsibility for himself and others.

Before studying for his physical therapy degree, Fitzgibbons worked as a computer programmer in large corporations in the Hartford area. After practicing physical therapy in Connecticut for 14 years, Fitzgibbons elected to move to Maine permanently. Before coming to Rumford Hospital, he worked in the Augusta area.

He lives in Farmington.
