LEWISTON — Chill Yoga, 178 Lisbon St., announces that in-house Kripalu yoga instructor Gabrielle Copeley, LMT, RYT 200, recently received her certification in LifeForce Yoga® practitioner training for anxiety and depression.
In July, Copeley attended training at the Kripalu Institute in Lenox, Mass., with LifeForce Yoga® creator, Amy Weintraub, MFA, E-RYT 500, who is also founding director of the LifeForce Yoga Healing Institute.
LifeForce Yoga® is a specific type of yoga that is intentionally designed to work with and manage the mood. Through breath work, postures, mantras and meditation techniques, LifeForce Yoga® is used as a compassionate approach to relieve depression and anxiety.
Copeley has been practicing yoga since 1995. She received her 200-hour yoga teacher training from the Kripalu Institute in 2008, and has been a licensed massage therapist for more than 10 years. She currently teaches gentle Kripalu yoga at the Chill Yoga Studio and started the LifeForce Yoga class at Chill Yoga beginning Sept. 12. The ongoing class will be held on Mondays from 10:30 to 11:45 a.m.
