READFIELD — Oak Hill put up a goal in each half, which was just enough to pull out a 2-0 victory over Maranacook in a mid-season KVAC field hockey matchup Thursday.
Danielle Samson gave the Raiders (1-6-1) a 1-0 advantage in the first frame, while Sadie Goulet tallied in the second half after assisting on Samson’s goal.
Ashley Ward handled netkeeping chores for Oak Hill, making 17 saves to notch the shutout.
Mt. View 2, Leavitt 0
THORNDIKE — After a scoreless first half, Mt. View came alive for a pair of goals to pull out a 2-0 victory over Leavitt in KVAC field hockey contest.
Delainey Kein scored first for the Mustangs with 28:27 left in regulation. Kyrstyn Keating completed the scoring with her tally 18 minutes later.
Abbie Charrier stood as still as a statue in net for Mount View, watching the contest with no saves needed. Taylor Eells turned aside five shots in the cage for Leavitt.
Lawrence 4, Lewiston 3
FAIRFIELD — Caitlin Koller scored an unassisted goal at the 16:10 mark to lift Lawrence to a 4-3 victory over Lewiston in a KVAC Class A field hockey game.
Sophia Lindsay led the Bulldogs with a pair of goals, while Bethany Rioux also tallied to complete the scoring.
Marissa Zanoni led the Blue Devils (2-4-2) with two goals, while Jenny Chouinard also scored. Emily Lambert made nine saves for Lawrence, while Ravon Palmer turned back 14 shots in the cage for Lewiston.
Girls’ soccer
Oxford Hills 1, Skowhegan 0
SOUTH PARIS — Junior striker Abbie Eastman scored the lone goal to lift Oxford Hills to a 1-0 triumph over Skowhegan in KVAC girls’ soccer action Thursday.
The ball was bouncing around in front of the box when Crystal West poked it to Eastman, who finished it off by sending it into the back of the net for the Vikings (4-1-2).
Skowhegan played tough on defense, getting outshot 15-0, and still came away giving up only one goal.
Goalie Andrea Quirion made 11 saves for the Indians (0-8), while Bre Martin and Sam Hatch collaborated in net for Oxford Hills.
Mt. Blue 4, Erskine 0
FARMINGTON — Meghan Bullen scored three consecutive goals in the second half and added an assist to lead Mt. Blue to a 4-0 triumph over Erskine.
Azzi Brinkman scored the lone goal in the opening half on a feed from Bullen with 8:29 left before intermission.
Bullen then took over for the Cougars (2-5-1) with her three goals, the final one coming with 35 seconds left in the game.
Starting goalie Rileigh Blanchette faced no shots, while Kasey Gaboury made two stops for Mt. Blue. Melanie Gay had eight saves for Erskine (0-8).
Poland 3, Old Orchard 1
OLD ORCHARD BEACH — Senior captain Anna Bolduc drilled a direct kick over the reach of the Old Orchard Beach goalie and into the net midway through the second half to break a deadlock and send Poland to a 3-1 victory over the Seagulls.
Emma Burton and Emily Bolduc each added a goal and an assist for Poland (2-6).
Freshman goalie Haley Whitworth earned her first varsity win in goal for Poland, making nine saves.
