AUBURN — Mechanics Savings Bank awarded a $1,000 Banking on the Future Scholarship to Monmouth Academy graduate Taylor Scott of North Monmouth.

Scott graduated from Monmouth Academy ranked fifth in her class and was an active member of the Key Club and a member of the prom committee. She was an active member of the basketball, dance and tennis teams during high school. She earned the MVC’s Tennis 1st Team and All-Academic honors as a senior and was awarded the Betty S. Davis Senior Athletic Award. In addition to her volunteer work with the Key Club, Scott also helped organize the Senior-to-Senior Valentine’s Day Tea.

Scott will attend the University of Maine in the fall, majoring in sociology. She hopes to one day open a private practice with emphasis on the treatment of juvenile addiction.
