 GREENE — Sawyer Memorial has had to change its programming for Friday, Sept. 30. Famed filmmaker Marlin Darrah had to cancel his “Pakistan & Afghanistan” film presentation, due to a family emergency.

In his place, at 2 p.m. ,Mary Morton Cowan will take audience members on an imaginary trip to many parts of the world that she has written about, and show the fun and adventure of writing for children.

At 7 p.m., Michael Perry will present a slide show titled “Traipsing Around New England,” with visits to the new Penobscot Narrows Bridge in Bucksport and the Bailey Island Cribstone Bridge in Maine; the McAuliffe-Shepard Space Museum in Concord, N.H.; the campuses of Amherst College and Brandeis and the Merrimack River mill district in Lawrence, Mass.; the Wadsworth Atheneum in Hartford, Conn.; and the downtown district of Providence, R.I.

Admission is free. Sawyer Memorial is at 371 Sawyer Road.
