SALEM — Mt. Abram scored two goals in the first 35 seconds of the game as the Roadrunners (6-3-1) sideswiped Winthrop, 4-0, in a girls’ soccer game Thursday.

Mt. Abram scored all four goals in the first 11 minutes of the contest before the teams played through a scoreless second half.

Sam Werzanski scored a pair of goals and teammates Emma Houston and Ivy Mitman also dropped in a goal. Ashley Shurtleff was credited with two assists and Jill Howard had one.

The Roadrunners dominated the winless Ramblers (0-9), outshooting them 18-5.

Leavitt 0, Gardiner 0

GARDINER — Leavitt and Gardiner battled to a 0-0 deadlock in a girls’ soccer game Thursday.

Leavitt (4-2-2) had the best scoring opportunity of the game when Mariah Treadwell’s attemmpt off a centering pass was stopped when Allie Day made a leaping stop near the post in the first half.

Kelly Pomerleau made six saves in net for the Hornets.

Hall-Dale 4, Spruce Mountain 3

FARMINGDALE — Carylanne Wolfington scored one goal in each half to lead Hall-Dale to a 4-2 victory over Spruce Mountain in a girls’ soccer game.

Hall-Dale built a 2-0 lead by halftime, which was extended to 4-0 before the Phoenix scored the game’s final two goals. Cassie Couture and Natalie Bolduc scored for Spruce Mountain.

Emily Keene made 18 saves while facing 29 Hall-Dale shots. Olivia Maynard stopped six shots for the Bulldogs.

Madison 5, Monmouth 3

MADISON — Natalie Michaud scored four goals to lead Madison to a 5-3 victory over Monmouth.

Kylie Kemp scored all three goals for Monmouth (5-5) in the first half, that ended in a 3-3 tie.

Sam McLaughlin also scored for Hall-Dale (8-1).

Natalie Young and Adrianna Gonzales combined for 12 saves in net for the Mustangs.

Lisbon 6, Carrabec 2

NORTH ANSON — Brooke Lawrence and Kayla Angelico each slipped in a pair of goals as Lisbon dismissed Carrabec with a 6-2 victory in a girls’ soccer game Thursday.

The Greyhounds 6-2-1 got ahead of the game when they scored three goals in the first half. Olivia Bulgin and Haley Eck rounded out the scoring.

The winless Cobras (0-9) spoiled a possible shutout when Lea Poire and Makayla Leeman each scored unassisted goals in the second half.

Lisbon dominated play, outshooting Carrabec 40-5. Greyhound goalie Alex Harmon earned the shutout, making just two saves.

Field hockey

Leavitt 2, Waterville 1

WATERVILLE — Leavitt survived a late surge and held on for a 2-1 victory over Waterville in a KVAC field hockey game Thursday.

Casey Fichter gave the Hornets (7-3) a 1-0 halftime with a goal at the 26:50 mark. The advantage grew to 2-0 when Cheryl Fichter converted a feed from Morgan Shaw and beat the Waterville goalie.

The Panthers (7-4) broke through late when Oliva Leges scored after a scramble in front.

Taylor Eells stopped three shots in goal for Leavitt.

Cony 4, Edward Little 1

AUGUSTA — Chelsea Begin scored twice in the first half and completed her hat trick in the second half to spark Cony to a 4-1 triumph over Edward Little in a KVAC field hockey game Thursday.

The Rams (6–3-1) built a 3-0 advantage by halftime.

Jordan Tate scored the lone goal for the Red Eddies (4-4-1) with an assist by Taylor Berube. Nicole Rugan added a goal and an assist for Cony.

Cony outshot Edward Little, 16-8. Amanda Williams made 12 saves in the EL goal
