LEWISTON — Kathy Haley and Phil House will entertain at the L/A Senior College’s “Honor the Instructors” dinner at 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 13, at USM L/A College, Function Room 170.
House, organist at the First Universalist Church in Auburn, has recorded many CDs of his piano and organ music. He has engaged audiences from his home town of Bryant Pond to Nashville and as far away as Vienna, Austria. He is a supervisor for the John F. Murphy homes.
Haley of Danville started performing early as a church organist, pianist and folk singer. Her first musical theater production in the 9th grade was under the direction of Hugh Keene. Kathy was a former lead singer with the Top 40 dance band “Good and Plenty.” She performs with the newly formed vocal band, “The Girls of LA.” Kathy continues as a church musician and is the organist/choir director at the Court Street Baptist Church of Auburn.
Grace Keene is chair of the event, assisted by Joyce Campbell and Mora Lepage. Hugh Keene is master of ceremonies. John Fletcher of L/A College Cafe will prepare the dinner.
Invited guests include the 2010-11 instructors, L/A USM Dean Joyce Gibson and members of the Board of Directors.
