MONMOUTH, Maine (AP) — A former middle school teacher from Monmouth is facing child pornography charges for the second time.

Christopher Brown was first arrested in June, but prosecutors later dropped the charges.

WABI-TV reports that the 55-year-old Brown was arrested again last week following his indictment earlier this month by a Kennebec County grand jury.

He was released on $3,000 bail and is due in court next month. His lawyer, who previously said there was no criminal conduct by his client, says Brown plans to plead not guilty.

Brown was first arrested in June after a school official reported students found photos on a classroom computer of girls on the school playground. Police later searched two school laptop computers assigned to Brown and allegedly found sexually explicit material on them.
