TURNER — David and Gail Stephenson of Turner are announcing the engagement of their daughter, Melissa Marie Stephenson, to Joshua Carl Peters, son of Lisa Varney of Lewiston and Michael Peters of Portland.

Miss Stephenson is a 2011 graduate of the University of Findlay in Ohio and is pursuing her master’s degree at Nottingham Trent University, UK, with a proposed graduation of September 2012.

Mr. Peters is a 2004 graduate of Southern Maine Community College with an associate degree in criminal justice. He is currently in active duty with the Coast Guard, stationed overseas in Bahrain near Saudi Arabia.

The wedding is planned for Aug. 24, 2013, in Auburn.
