PERU — The Board of Selectmen agreed Monday night to have Animal Control Officer Sue Milligan take feral kittens to the River Valley Animal Agency, if it would agree.
Milligan reported that the cat that bit her recently was not rabid.
In other business, the board approved five tree growth renewals and issued building permits for a porch on Valley Road and a shed on Ridge Road.
Selectmen were told a OneMaine Health Community Health Needs Assessment Forum will be held from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Nov. 16 at the Crescent Park School in Bethel. Health concerns for Oxford County will be discussed.
In response to a resident’s question on the proposed moratorium on wind power development, Wind Turbine Ordinance Committee Chairman Bill Hine answered, “If you want more time before an ordinance for wind power, vote for the moratorium.
Hine has said previously that the proposed six-month moratorium on wind power developments would give the committee time to draft regulations governing such projects.
The moratorium proposal will be on the Nov. 8 ballot, along with a question on what residents want to do with the former Peru elementary school and whether they want to drill a well for the town office.
