FREEPORT — Kids First Center has announced its upcoming professional conference, “Stepfamily Dynamics and Child Custody Disputes,” to be held at the Harraseeket Inn from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 10.

Presenter Leslie Todd, LCSW, ACSW, has been in private practice in Baton Rouge, La., since 1991. She holds an MSW from Louisiana State University and an MA in English from University of South Carolina and has taught family-related courses at the college and graduate levels.

Attendees will learn to help families understand the stages of stepfamily formation, the role that stress plays, boundary issues and the most common issues which provoke litigation. Inter-household genograms will be used to illustrate enlisting family participation in problem-solving and managing expectations of the expanded family.

Cost is $175/pp and includes a gourmet lunch.
