Men’s Basketball

Last year: 9-17

Top Returning Players: Jr. G Nick Hinkley, Jr. G Curtis Miller, Jr. G Ross Caron

Overview: The Mustangs had a rare down season, missing the playoffs for the first time in Coach Gonyea’s tenure. This year is expected to be different. Gonyea likes the looks and makeup of this team and expects a much better showing. The squad is young, with 14 underclassmen, but there’s a good amount of talent. Gonyea says the team isn’t big but it has quickness and shoots well. Freshmen guards Michael Green, from Florida, Alonzo James, from Bath and Samson Olayemi, from Manchester, England are all expected to make significant contributions and help make this squad a contender in the conference.

Women’s Basketball

Last year: 14-12

Top Returning Players: Sr. G Teira Durgin, So. F Kailey Martin, So. F Jaime Swart, So. F Danielle McCusker, So. G Karlee Biskup.

Overview: This is a young squad with just one senior and eight underclassmen on a roster of nine. Biskup missed most of last year to an injury and should be a go-to player for the Mustangs. Durgin is a leader and player to watch. Martin, Swart and McCusker all step into larger roles this season. The Mustangs have some early injuries and are still coming together as a team with a new coach. Expectations are high though to build another winner and be a force in the Yankee Small College Conference.
