FARMINGTON — Police have arrested a man tonight in the stabbing death of Grace Burton at her home in June, Department of Public Safety spokesman Stephen McCausland said.

The 81-year-old woman died of multiple stab wounds to the body and head, according to an autopsy report from the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Augusta.

Before she died at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston on June 21, Burton was able to tell authoriteis her attacker had a thin mustache, police said.

The attacker broke into her home at the Margaret Chase Smith Apartments on Fairbanks Road the night of June 20.
