After 56 years in the cozy but crowded Kate J. Anthony House, the Lewiston-Auburn YWCA will leave its Auburn home in spring 1988 for a spacious $885,000 addition to its pool building in Lewiston.
“We’re celebrating a very special day, a day we want to share with the community,” Dr. Pauline V. Beale said Friday as she unveiled plans for the two-story addition.
Beale, the president of the YWCA’s board of directors, said organizers plan to begin construction at 130 East Ave. in spring of 1987.
