HARRISON — The following events are scheduled as part of Christmas in Harrison weekend.
Thursday, Dec. 1
5 to 6:30 p.m. Soup & Song from at the Congregational Church of Harrison. Donations of canned goods requested for the local food pantry.
Friday, Dec. 2
All day: Stroll through the village and enjoy the homes and businesses that have been beautifully decorated for the season.
6:30 p.m. Santa arrives. Bring a flashlight or candle.
6 to 8 p.m. Lion’s Club Food Booth will be selling hot drinks.
7 to 8 p.m. Children may visit Santa at the Town Office.
Saturday, Dec. 3
7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Breakfast and lunch items will be on sale at the Grange Hall.
7:30 to 9:30 a.m. Holiday pancake and egg breakfast at the Congregational Church of Harrison; donations accepted.
8:30 a.m. Free Zumba toning at the Harrison Ballroom.
9:05 a.m. Free Zumba class/demo at the Harrison Ballroom.
9:30 a.m. Christmas parade with the arrival of Santa on an antique fire truck.
10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Chinese auction at the Lions Den under Northeast Bank.
10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Free horse-drawn wagon rides throughout the village.
10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The Harrison Brass Choir Ensemble will play as they wander through the village.
10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Children’s crafts hosted by Harrison Lions at the Lions Den.
10 a.m. to noon: Children’s scavenger hunt will start at the Town Office.
10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Visit with Santa Claus at his workshop in front of the fireplace at the Olde Mill Tavern. Parents bring a camera.
10 a.m. to noon: Cookie walk and gingerbread man decorating for children at Harrison Village Library. Sponsored by Friends of the Library. Christmas Village on display.
10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Annual craft fairs at both the Harrison Grange and Town Office.
10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Christmas tree sale at the Village Tie-Up. Sponsored by the Harrison Lions Club.
11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Free greenery swag making at the Gateway Marina.
5 to 7:30 p.m. Chowder supper at the Congregational Church of Harrison. Sponsored by Waterford’s World Fair. Prize winners will be announced for the raffle.
Open houses on Dec. 3: Many local business will be open for entertainment with many serving refreshments.
