LEWISTON — Jen Machin’s goal at 3:57 of the third period boosted Brunswick to a 3-3 tie with Lewiston in the girls’ hockey season opener for both teams Saturday night at Androscoggin Bank Colisee.

Lewiston led 2-1 after one period and 3-2 at the second intermission.

Goalies Erin Gay of Brunswick and Paige Fontaine of Lewiston were up to the task during overtime to keep the teams even.

Makaela Field scored on an assist from Lauren Lessard and Sadie Poulin found the net with help from Mikaela St. Laurent in the first period for the Devils.

Mikaela Brown scored the third Lewiston goal on a feed from Erica Lemieux.

Ann Kelly had a goal and an assist for Brunswick. Eliza Brooks scored the other Dragons goal. Rachel Moroney registered two assists.
