BOWDOINHAM — A Brunswick woman was struck and killed Thursday night by a pickup as she was crossing a road in Bowdoinham, police said.

Helen Koulouris, 58, died at Mid Coast Hospital in Brunswick shortly after she was taken there by ambulance, Maine State Police Trooper Jonathan Leach said.

He said Koulouris was struck by a truck driven by Lisa Green, 42, of Bowdoinham. The accident took place on Fisher Road, a short distance from Green’s home, at about 6:15 p.m.

Leach said Koulouris was looking for a nearby residence and had parked her vehicle on the opposite side of the road. She was attempting to cross the road when the truck hit her.

Green told police she did not see anyone but felt the impact and stopped immediately, Leach said. Green found Koulouris alongside the road, the trooper said. He said Koulouris was wearing dark clothing.

No charges were filed against the driver, Leach said.
