OXFORD — A local man was being treated Sunday night at Central Maine Medical Center after a car he was working on slipped off its support, pinning him underneath.

Officer Daniel Bragg, of the Oxford Police Department, said that the man was being treated for non-life-threatening injuries after a car he was working on slipped off its jack and onto of his upper body at about 6:15 p.m. Sunday. The man, whose name was not released, was working on a friend’s car at a residence on Colby Shores Road in Oxford when the incident occurred.

Bragg said he and an Oxford firefighter were able to lift the small, compact model car off the man when they arrived so that family could pull him out from beneath the car. The incident remained under investigation and no other details were available Sunday night.
