FARMINGTON — Students and staff at Mt. Blue High School were bussed to other school locations about 11 a.m. Friday after another bomb threat was received at the school.
It is the third threat to the school this year.
Contractors working on the school renovation project also had to leave the site, causing another disruption to their work.
A State Police bomb squad including an explosives-sniffing dog from Augusta has been called in to search the campus.
Students started evacuating immediately and were bussed to four alternate sites from which they will be dismissed at the normal time of 2 p.m., Leanne Condon, curriculum coordinator for RSU 9 said. Lunches were brought out of the school and also bussed to the sites.
Both students and staff had to leave their vehicles at the high school until the site is cleared by police, Condon said. At that time, the school make an announcement over local radio station, WKTJ, to let them know they can go back to pickup their cars.
Condon was not sure how the threat was made, whether by note or phone.
Suspected involvement in a previous bomb threat was a factor in the recent suspension and expulsion of one student but no charges have been made against the student, Condon said.
