Coach: Tyler Tracy (second year)
Last year’s record: 7-11
Returning players: Seniors — Ricky Bryant (6-0 forward), Jacob Littlefield (6-4 forward), Logan Nichols (5-10 guard), Drew Peterson (6-2 forward), Jed Quint (6-1 guard), Nate Rybeck (6-0 forward); Sophomore— C.J. Martin (5-10 guard).
Key losses: Jonah Farrington, Jordan Chase.
Promising newcomers: Senior — Trevor Morin (5-10 guard); Juniors — Brian Bates (5-9 forward), Nick Allen (5-10 guard); Sophomores — Josh Gary (6-3 forward), Billy Bickford (6-1 forward), Shawn Murphy (6-2 forward).
Outlook: Poland made tremendous strides in its first year under Tracy and welcomes back three starters, including WMC assists leader Nichols and second-team all-star Littlefield. Peterson also played a significant role in one of the Knights’ most productive seasons ever. The growth of the tournament field from 50 to 67 percent means a playoff berth is well within reach, but the Knights hope to set that bar higher as the season progresses.
Coach’s comment: “We have a veteran group of guys that have worked hard and put in a lot of time. If we improve upon our consistency, we can compete with anyone.” — Coach Tyler Tracy
