PORTLAND, Maine (AP) — A commercial fisherman from eastern Maine is going to jail for five months after pleading guilty to not paying income taxes from 2005 through 2007.

Fifty-one-year-old Aaron Doherty of Milbridge was sentenced after pleading guilty Wednesday in Cumberland County Superior Court. He was also ordered to pay $31,000 to the state for taxes he owed from 1999 to 2008.

Attorney General William Schneider said Doherty was previously convicted in 2005 of not filing tax returns from 1999 to 2004.
