Verizon’s HopeLine program recently gave a check for $1,000 to Safe Voices, the domestic violence resource center in Auburn serving Androscoggin, Franklin and Oxford counties. Kelley Glidden, Safe Voices director of Community Education, left, and Jane Morrison, Safe Voices executive director, hold the check. Safe Voices purchased gift cards for clients who would otherwise struggle to provide a holiday meal or gifts for their families. So far this holiday season Safe Voices has worked with 65 families in need to provide food and gifts. Many of them are women and children who have had to flee their homes due to abuse and start over with few resources.
