Androscoggin Chemical Co. has been organized at Lewiston for the purpose of carrying on a general wholesale and retail business of dealers in chemicals and phosphate, with $10,000 capital stock, of which nothing is paid in. Officers: President, Arthur B. Andrews of Auburn; treasurer, Edward F. Kenney of Lewiston. Certificate filed Dec. 21, 1911.

For the past several weeks, there has been a shortage of flu vaccine in many parts of the country and the Twin Cities area is no exception.
Clark’s Drug Store in Lewiston reported that the shortage has been in effect for several weeks, starting about the middle of October.
“We have had numerous calls for vaccine,” a pharmacy official reported, “but we haven’t been able to fill the orders.”
“We have our order in for all the vaccine we can get but, as of yet, are getting no great response,” the pharmacist noted.
25 years ago, 1986
An unidentified man is being sought for questioning in connection with Thursday night’s fire on River Street, according to Lewiston police.
Police would not release the name of the man being sought, but said that several persons had seen him in the area “acting suspiciously” shortly before the fire broke.
The fire, which resulted in serious injuries to two firefighters and left two families homeless, has been ruled arson, according to the State Fire Marshall’s office.
