WILTON — Police are investigating two attempted burglaries that took place Monday night on Route 2.
Police say the incident may be related to the robbery at Patty’s Place on Route 2 last week. The homes where the attempted burglaries took place are a few miles apart and not far from the secondhand shop.
The first attempted burglary was in East Dixfield and reported at about 5:45 p.m. Monday, Wilton police Chief Heidi Wilcox said. The homeowner went to open the door and a person pushed back on it, knocking the homeowner over. The homeowner received a minor injury but did not require treatment, she said.
Two people fled on foot. Police attempted to track them with a dog.
The second attempted burglary was reported at 7:07 p.m. from a Route 2 home in Wilton. Family members heard the door jiggling and saw a person in dark clothing flee from the doorstep.
Homeowners could not provide a vehicle description for either incident, she said.
