LEWISTON — Gritty McDuff’s L/A Brew Pub of Auburn recently donated $3,400 to the Tree Street Youth Center in Lewiston.
In December, Gritty’s L/A Brew Pub donated $1 from every pint of beer it sold on Saturday nights to the center. On New Year’s Eve it hosted a beer dinner with part of the proceeds going to the Tree Street Center. More than 45 people attended the New Year’s Eve bash.
In addition, the pub staff made paper trees and sold them for $1 each to patrons and then taped the paper trees all over the bar, according to Dave French, general manager of Gritty’s L/A Brew Pub.
In all, $3,400 was raised for Tree Street Youth during December. Tree Street Youth supports the youth of Lewiston-Auburn through academics, the arts and athletics. It provides Lewiston-Auburn youth with a safe space that encourages healthy physical, social, emotional and academic development while building unity across lines of difference. The center is at 144 Howe St.
