AUBURN — Central Maine Community College’s Corporate and Community Service department will partner with the IRS to offer a seminar on “Business Taxes for the Self-Employed” at its Auburn campus on Feb. 16 from 6-8 p.m.
Performing due diligence and complying with tax requirements is a critical part of doing business today, and this program will focus on providing small business owners with the necessary information to meet their federal tax responsibilities.
Conducted by Shawn Savage, IRS senior stakeholder liaison for Maine, this seminar will provide participants with basics surrounding reporting profits/losses, estimated tax payments, self-employment taxes, Schedule C, family-owned businesses, business expenses, applying for an Employee Identification Number, and record-keeping requirements in addition to other topics. Cost to register is $5.
