GRAY — A pair of teenagers were arrested Friday, accused of breaking into nearly two dozen vehicles in February.

Cumberland County Sheriff’s investigators working with scant physical evidence and footwear impressions were able to zero in on two Windham High School students as suspects, police said.

The teens, one 15 and the other 16, were arrested on more than 30 counts, including vehicle burglary, theft and criminal mischief.

The 15-year-old received a summons and was released to his parents under house arrest, police said. The 16-year-old was taken to Long Creek Youth Development Center in South Portland.

Some of the stolen property was recovered, police said. Taken in the break-ins were electronics, money, clothing, personal identification and credit cards.

Police said the teens used some of the stolen credit cards at businesses across Cumberland County.
