STANDISH, Maine (AP) — Maine police say four men pretending to be drug agents are blamed for a home invasion in which a 6-year-old girl watched as five adults were handcuffed.

The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Departments say the assailants claiming to be from the federal Drug Enforcement Administration knocked down the door and used plastic ties to handcuff the adults Friday morning.

The assailants ransacked the house and stole purses and prescription drugs. They disappeared after telling the occupants they were going outside to get a drug-sniffing dog.

Deputies said they didn’t get a good description because the men were wearing ski masks, but detectives recovered evidence from the home.
